Saving energy during this winter : Weatherstripping.

Winter is heavily hitting in North East United States and many part of the world. Marketing world promotes energy saving products. Here are some easy tips to save energy and money. I was in Home Depot recently to purchase something that I can use to protect my windows which are currently gushing with cold windy air. I found several weather-stripping products and materials. I picked something which I can afford and easily put.

These are the common things needed for saving energy….

1) Identify number of windows , doors , patio doors that you feel have some level of air leakage.
2) Basic tools like measuring tape, hair dryer, scissors , nails, hammer etc..
3) V-Seal Weatherstrip (Plastic self strip), Rubber form weather strips.
4) Time and willingness….

Step 1: Clean the window or door.

Please make sure to clean the window side and door using soapy water, baby wipes. This helps to make sure there are no dusts or sticky items in the window jam. This is the place the lower slash sliced in. This is one of the common entry for cold air. You also need to clean lower slash along with window jam. Keep clean any part that you are going stick the weather seal.

Step 2: Install the weather seal and V-Seal weatherstrip.

In order to stick the weather seal, we need to take the measure of the window and cut the weather seal. Once after you cut this you place this bottom of the lower slash and stick it. Same way measure the side of the window and cut the V-seal and place to the side putting as V-shape. You have to fold this V-Seal and strip out the paper , please see this use full video as well to help you to get more details.

Step 3: Verify your doors and rooms.

Verify all the rooms and try to close the rooms which are not using. Put something below the window so the heat won’t spread. You can also close vent for the unused rooms. This way you can prevent loosing heat.

Step 4: Using caulking cord.

This is another useful to prevent outside air. You can locate the window side , door side or patio side and put this caulking cord. This will prevent air to come in.

There are many ways to prevent the cool air come in , most of the weatherstrip things are available in Home depot and Lowe's. It was very useful for me and I am really saving energy and some dollars…

Michael Phelps: A true winner of the year 2008.

There will be only one name is going to be discussed once olympics lights goes off. That is Michael Phelps. Who else it is only you Phelps. 8 Gold medal and that too breaking the record of Mark Spitz.

I wish more and more kids in the world not just in US to start practice "Swimming". Summer is about to finish , No more new sign -ups for swimming lessons. But swimming sensation Phelps will be remembered more than any other althlets in US. He may bypass Tiger Woods and Mohammed Ali.

His remarkable victory also redirect to more gossips , Who can date with this guy . His team mate Amanda Beards says (According to Nework Daily News) "Dating Phelps will be Nasty".

Baltimore is ready to recieve him and the entire sports lovers in US. ..........

Olympics started !!!

Finally Olympic torch reached Beijing. It was splendid experience to see the opening ceremony. I could not watch the entire program but whatever i saw later was really thrilling. China showed the world about their history and blend of modernity. Fireworks, Other opening ceremony activities were beautiful.

I know it is almost a week now Olympics starts . USA ,China , South Korea rally for medals compare to other countries.

Phelps still hasn't finished his collecting. He is an amazing star from US in the Olympics. He will be remembered through out the Olympics for his series of victory. He is a cool guy with lots smile and charming star for United States Of America.

Opening basketball game was another event, which stunned China. US beat China (101-70). Yao Ming might have surprised by Koby's super performance.

Before ending my today's note, I have to share this with you. That is India's historic gold medal in Shooting. India's 24 year old Abhinav Bindre will be Olympics icon for India. This will be beautiful gift for all Indians at the time of 62st Indian Independence on Aug 15.

Gymnastics Training in China

China – The fast growing communist ruled country sharing the world with lot to learn. Now they have got new opportunity to demonstrate the world with their sportsman spirit and hard work. As globalization changed the shape of the world, China used this revolution to promote sports among its people even they are very young.

While I was reading more about Olympics 2008, I have seen information about China’s Gymnastic majesty. Sport authorities in China train the kids from their early stage and provide them salary and better training environment compare to any other nation in the world. Li Xiaoshuang Gymnastics School in Hubei is best example of professional training in this field.

They considered the training to be highly intensive and sometime it can go even brutal. Their objective is to gain gold medal, regardless of human cost.

I always ask my Chinese friend why you didn’t choose to be an athlete. He laughs and says it is prestige and national pride for many Chinese.

Hope China might obtain more Olympics medals especially in Gymnastics and athletics.
